The Biden administration’s efforts to turn up the regulatory heat on gasoline stoves are drawing bipartisan opposition from a pair of senators who have launched a bill to block a ban on gasoline stoves.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Senate Vitality and Natural Sources Committee Chairman Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., introduced the “Fuel Stove Protection and Freedom Act” last week amid the Biden administration’s discussions of proposed restrictions on gas stoves.

However, an inner memo obtained by Fox Information Digital showed that in October 2022, Trumka urged that the CPSC could move ahead with a discover of proposed rulemaking (NPR) on gas stoves. The DOE’s NPR says that the agency has “tentatively concluded” that “the proposed standards symbolize the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible and economically justified, and would end in the significant conservation of power.”
