However, an inner memo obtained by Fox Information Digital showed that in October 2022, Trumka urged that the CPSC could move ahead with a discover of proposed rulemaking (NPR) on gas stoves. The DOE’s NPR says that the agency has “tentatively concluded” that “the proposed standards symbolize the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible and economically justified, and would end in the significant conservation of power.”
